On May 26,2012, our mother passed away somewhat unexpectedly. It
was the saddest day of our lives but a time of outpouring love,
heartfelt emotions and overwhelming support. The support that was
most notable and felt immediately came from Horizon Funeral Home
and its staff... Mr. Johnson was standing by to deal with
hospital-related administrative and medical issues. He showed
tremendous kindness and understanding at a time when we needed it
the most. He and the Horizon team were dedicated professionals
throughout the entire process. In addition to the excellent
support, Horizon worked with our family to give our mom the type of
farewell that you could be proud of while working within an
affordable budget. We owe a debt of gratitude to the Horizon staff
and the Johnson family for the high caliber of support/guidance and
genuine kindness and love shown to our family. We are grateful and
fortunate to have chosen Horizon to handle the saddest period in

On behalf of the Beales family, I would like to thank Mr. Johnny
and Horizon Funeral Home for their service to my father. When Dad
found out he had terminal cancer, he began the search for someone
of integrity to take care of him. Two things were key in his
decision to use Horizon: the value offered for the price and, more
importantly, his assessment of Mr. Johnson's character. It may be
unusual for someone to become friends with their funeral director,
but Dad was never one to worry about appearances. He was much
impressed with Mr. Johnson's honesty, integrity, service to our
country, and clear pride in a job well done. Dad's trust was well
placed; everyone there was warm, caring, compassionate, respectful,
and very, very good at their jobs. Every aspect was handled with
care - from the program, to the photo tribute, the Family Night
event and the many funeral details. We are so thankful to the whole
Horizon family for the many ways they went above and beyond in
caring for us.

If you want someone who is kind, considerate, and helpful to deal
with your loved one, then choose any funeral home in Culpeper. But
if you want someone who is caring, compassionate, and genuinely
sympathetic to you needs, choose Horizon Funer Home. Their staff
indeed go the extra mile for your family. They make a difficult
time as comfortable as possible by attending to all details, no
matter how minute. Mr. Johnson was new in town when my loved one
passed, but after talking with him I knew that he truly cared. No
matter your race, creed, or religion, all are treated with a gentle
compassion that is so often lacking in today's business
world.

On behalf of the Tibbs family I would like to personal thank Johnny
for helping us through this difficult time. Courteous, dedicated,
respectful, organized, and most importantly caring is what Horizon
Funeral Home is all about. They went above and beyond their call of
duty for Charles Tibbs. He was truly in good hands. Charles would
have been well satisfied with the service that Horizon has
provided. We are truly bless that you have come to our community
and your hard work and dedication from you and your staff is
greatly appreciated.

Horizon Funeral Home was new to our area when my brother
died; Upon many discussions as to what funeral home to choose we
decided to give Mr. Johnson a chance. My family was very pleased
with the professional and caring services Horizon provided. We
could tell that this is more than just a business to Mr. Johnson;
He not only gives top quality services, but does his job with pride
and consideration for the families he help. We would recommend him
to anyone. A true blessing to our community.

My cousin funeral was done professionally and with the
great respect. Mr. Johnson and his staff not only put my family at
ease, but gave us more then we were expecting in service. May God
continue to bless Horizon Funeral Home for all they do for our
community.

Horizon Funeral Home is very courteous, organized,
dedicated, respectful, and most of all caring. Horizon Funeral Home
went above and beyond their call of duty in regards to customer
service. My cousin's home going was very special. Horizon Funeral
Home did a very good presented of my cousin's body. Your hard work
and dedication is greatly appreciated, Thank you Laura Yates and
Family.

Mr. Johnson and his family treated my fathers death as
though he had known my family for many years. We had a hard time
finding a funeral home who fit the financial need and moral support
that we were looking for, and once we spoke with Mr. Johnson we
knew we had found the right place for my family to say our last
good byes to my father. Mr. Johnson and his staff were extremely
welcoming, helpful, and understanding through out the entire
process and for that we are all forever grateful! It was hard to
let my father go but once I knew he was in the hands of Mr. Johnny
Johnson I was at peace with my father's death. Thank you Horizon
Funeral Home for all that you have done for my family and our
community, you will for forever be in our hearts. Don't judge a
book by it's cover this funeral home is absolutely beautiful.
